On Wednesday 10th December, the exhibition for the SAF London Students Prize was held
at Phillips Auction House in London.
The Prize aims to celebrate talented student artists, with entries for any pupils studying Art
at a London based school. It is a really competitive event, with the shortlisted 30 students
selected out of hundreds of entries.
We were thrilled to have three TKA students make the shortlist, which meant TKA was one
of the schools with the joint highest number of students shortlisted! Congratulations to
Milena L (Y13), Fardin W (Y13) and Anna K (Y11). During the
exhibition, the shortlisted students’ work was displayed, and students could discuss their
motivations with the judges, who included practicing artists, art critics and journalists.
Speeches from the judges highlighted the success of the students who had been selected,
and celebrated a night to support the Arts.
We are so proud of our students who were shortlisted for the Prize - congratulations on
your achievement.
The highlight of the night was Fardin’s piece ‘The Diminishing Sublime’ voted to be the
winner of the Public Vote Prize- meaning his piece secured the most online votes. We are
so proud of Fardin for his hard work, and delighted that he achieved such recognition for
his delicate embroidery work.
It was an outstanding night of celebration for the Arts, and Art at TKA, and we are so proud
that pupils had the opportunity to showcase their talents, and their hard work.
Congratulations!
