Construction Group Site Visit

The Year 11 Construction Course students were offered a fantastic insight into careers in construction when the Hill Group invited them to Ham Close, Richmond for a site tour. They also took part in activities focused on electrical and plumbing tasks. The tour really highlighted the huge diversity of roles that are involved in completing a building project.

The Ham Close development is a significant housing-led regeneration project in Ham, Richmond, being led by local housing provider RHP (Richmond Housing Partnership) in partnership with Richmond Council and The Hill Group.

The project will deliver 452 new homes, replacing the existing 192 homes.

• This includes the full re-provision of all existing social housing (for current tenants).
• There will be an addition of 78 new genuinely affordable homes, leading to 270 affordable homes in total (split between affordable rent and shared ownership).
• The remaining homes will be for private sale to help fund the project.
