On the week commencing the 5th May TKA took part in two big London Youth Games events at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre representing Kingston.
On Tuesday 6th we had an incredible day at the U16 Boys jr NBA 3v3 Basketball Tournament. TKA dominated the group stage with dominant wins over Wimbledon College, Harris Invictus and Whitgift. As we progressed to the Semi Finals we were pitted against Whitgift again who we duly dispatched 10-8 to set up a Final against Wimbledon College. The final delivered our best performance of the Tournament and we came away 21-14 winners. We have been crowned South London Champions and now head to Trafalgar Square for the Finals Day in June. Well done to Coach Fuentes and his team.
On Wednesday 7th May, our U15 Boys and Girls Futsal Teams were in action. The boys' competition took place in the morning and TKA stormed out the blocks with impressive wins against Haringey, Hillingdon and Richmond, a couple of setbacks followed by a win against Camden sent us through to the Semi Finals. We played out a 0-0 draw with Wandsworth but advanced to the Final after a penalty win. We faced Enfield in the Final who had beaten us 3-0 in the group, however a close game finished 0-0 and we headed for penalties again. Unfortunately, we were on the wrong side of the penalty shoot out this time but nothing can take away a fabulous achievement in finishing 2nd. The U15 Girls team recorded two wins in their group stage matches against Richmond and Kensington respectively. This was not enough to take us through the Semi Finals. Meadow was our top scorer with three goals.
