The Kingston Academy is located in North Kingston, close to the River Thames and Richmond Park. It is a short bus ride or easy walk from Kingston town centre.
In September 2016 the school moved into its newly renovated premises with state-of-the-art ICT equipment and all new fixtures and fittings. In October 2016 work began to construct a cutting edge new building to house our growing school community.

Statement regarding timing for completion of the new building, from the Project Director from the Government’s Education and Skills Funding Agency – March 2018
“The main construction contract has now been signed. This is a significant milestone, paving the way for completion of the new build extension and the whole build project for The Kingston Academy. Completion of the build is phased, with three floors of teaching accommodation, including specialist facilities such as science labs, and external areas including multi use games areas due for occupation in September. Completion of the whole building, to provide further specialist and sports facilities is scheduled for January 2019. The latest update from the contractor is that they are on target to achieve these dates. However, as with any construction project there is potential for delay, for example due to extreme weather like that seen last month. In order to ensure sufficient accommodation is available as the school continues to grow we are also working on plans to expand the temporary accommodation, a planning application will be submitted for this in the coming months –at this stage this is just this is a fall back plan in case a delay is experienced.”
Our Trust Partners
A further strength of The Kingston Academy is the unrivalled access our pupils have to the extensive academic facilities our Trust partners have pledged. Kingston University libraries, the Rose Theatre, the University sports grounds, Kingston College’s Creative Industries Centre, Sports Academies and extensive teaching and lecturing bodies from both organisations are just some examples of this commitment. This is a school that views its facilities as reaching far beyond the resources we access both onsite and within our community. The partnerships we have, and will continue to forge in business and enterprise, will provide our learning community with outstanding facilities and access locally to first rate intellectual and social capital. It is this approach that will make The Kingston Academy experience the destination for excellence.
We are committed to our pupils being healthy, happy and active participants in school life. We will encourage all pupils through the local partnerships we have established to engage in any number of the sports opportunities available which will include football, rugby, hockey, athletics, cricket, golf and tennis as well as some less traditional activities such as rowing, sailing, fencing and cycling. In addition our facilities will promote and facilitate contemporary lifelong wellbeing activities for our pupils and wider community such as Pilates, Yoga, Dance, Badminton as well as access to a fully equipped fitness studio.
